México está aquí!

Tomorrow is the day Mallory and I leave for Mexico! I am particularly excited about this trip because I will be accompanied by a cherished friend. I am praying God uses both of us in whatever way He sees fit to minister to the people in Mexico.

A few prayer requests:

~Our flight leaves at 12:30pm from Atlanta and we'll arrive at 2:15pm. Please pray for safe travels and that all of our luggage gets there in one peace :) Also, be in prayer for Mallory as she is not a U.S. citizen and might have to go through more "stuff" to enter the countries and exit than I would.

~We'll be down there for 10 days. I ask for prayer during each day. We're not fully sure of what we'll be doing each day, but are willing to serve wherever. Pray that God uses us and works through us to minister to the Mexicans.

~Our health. Most of you know that my trip to the Philippines gave me some "health issues", so I ask for prayer for our health throughout the trip.

Most of all, thanks for your support and encouragement. I covet your prayers during this time and am blessed to have such wonderful people behind me in this journey. May His name be proclaimed throughout the Universe!!

To Mexico With Love

In just a week this girl and I will be on a plane headed to Mexico!!! Mallory is/was one of my roommates this past year. We met at church a couple of summers ago and she has since become a dear friend. Her family moved here from Canada and even though "she's not from 'round here", she fits right in with us southerners :)

Last summer, she and I both went on a mission trip. She went to Ireland and I, obviously, went to the Philippines. As we prepared for our journeys, we both met together and prayed several times for our trips. It amazes me how God had his hand on us both, then and now, not knowing that He would be preparing us for a trip together. We were both gone around the same time, her trip being first and mine starting as she was getting back home. We didn't see each other for about a month and it was a sweet homecoming when we got to share about our trips together. We soon realized that it would be interesting if we both went on a mission trip together the following summer. Our first instincts were to go to China. She had been wanting to go there and I had this new found love for Asians :) We began to search and prepare for a trip to China in May. However, God had different plans, and we ended up preparing for a trip to Mexico instead! Funny how He does that ;)

I'm really excited about serving on a mission trip with a beloved friend. Mallory and I both have different gifts and God definitely uses us in distinctive capacities. I'm excited to see what He will do in us and through us since we are so unique. God has big plans :) Prayers are much appreciated as we prepare our hearts for this venture.
